Director of First Impressions

Director of First Impressions


The first impressions director is responsible for ensuring NCC provides an unparalleled first-impression experience. The director’s primary responsibility is to lead teams that will welcome people into an inviting and safe environment where they can encounter the love of God. This position is responsible for creating systems and paths for people to take steps towards greater connection and investment at NCC. The first impression director will manage metrics and drive toward key performance indicators. Candidates should have strong gift and passion for hospitality and experience leading teams. This role also coordinates and oversees all logistical/scheduling pre and post-requirements for our internal and external events and serves as point of contact for all guest speakers/artists. The first impressions director is tasked with overseeing and supporting a large number of teams that serve in critical ministry. These teams include: Hospitality, Connections, Operations, Volunteer Care, and Safety.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Vision and Collaboration

  • Cast and carry the vision for First Impressions ministries. Craft strategic responses to harness opportunities for hospitality.
  • Share larger NCC and campus values and vision with teams under your leadership.
  • Serve as the liaison for the First Impressions Team to the Capital Turnaround Campus Pastor and staff. Collaborate with staff and team to ensure excellence during all NCC Experiences.
  • Work with the campus pastor on areas of improvement, specific challenges, or particular opportunities unique to location.

Team Oversight and Support

  • Oversee all First Impressions Teams (including Hospitality, Connections, Operations, Volunteer Care, Safety) at Capital Turnaround weekend services, for House of Prayer, and special events.
  • Schedule, recruit, train and empower FI teams (including Hospitality, Connections, Operations, Volunteer Care, Safety) at Capital Turnaround.
  • Lead, build, and train teams to execute all aspects of First Impressions ministry.
  • Provide basic support and care to team leaders and volunteers. This includes leadership development, regular meetings or connections, and providing care.

Systems Development and Maintenance

  • Implement and direct the connections process, which drive attenders to full engagement.
  • Develop and maintain recruitment systems that ensure fully supported ministry teams.
  • Maintain an efficient and effective system for counting and recording weekly offering and service attendance within NCC data management systems.
  • Maintain a system for weekly distribution of resources and inventory at the Turnaround.
  • Work with the campus pastor to plan and execute the Volunteer Summer Summit annually.
  • Work with Experience Team on evaluating and improving the holistic weekend experience at the Capital Turnaround.

Hospitality and Environments

  • Provide radical hospitality across all NCC events and environments.
  • Establish and maintain aesthetic standards in event spaces.
  • Maintain signage and aesthetic elements and implement regular updates of equipment.

Special Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred,
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience,
  • Experience in leading in a group context where contextualization and consensus are critical,
  • Experience managing leaders and teams.

Special Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Desire and passion to serve Christ in the local church.
  • Cultural savvy, sensitivity and instincts appropriate for a multi-cultural church.

Family Ministry Pastor

Family Ministry Pastor

The family ministry pastor is responsible to implement a family ministry discipleship strategy, support an excellent weekend experience for kids and youth, and facilitate partnership with parents and the community. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, pastoral, and spiritual leadership skills, and a strategic gift.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Discipleship Content Development

  • Develop and implement NCC family ministry (Next Gen) discipleship strategy.
  • Develop curriculum resources to align with key objectives [ex: scripture emphasis].
  • Create content for kids and parents on culturally relevant topics, alignment series, season topics.
  • Support team to edit/curate weekly curriculum.

Resource Families

  • Provide opportunities for parents to connect with others.
  • Curate relevant and timely resources for families.
  • Provide discipleship cues for parents throughout the year [ex: Easter, Advent].
  • Direct families into discipleship rhythms [ex: small groups, mission teams, volunteer teams].

Create & Facilitate Milestone Moments

  • Implement transition milestones [nursery to preschool, kids to youth].
  • Provide parent events and meetings at milestone events [moving up to 6th grade, new parent stage, graduation].
  • Create and support ongoing discipleship classes/resources.

Management and Oversight Team & Volunteer Management

  • Oversee family ministry staff and contractors.
  • Develop staff through training, resources, coaching.
  • Lead Family Ministry teams in a cohesive and unified strategy for families.

Weekend Experience Team & Volunteer Management

  • Develop and support the volunteer leadership team.
  • Work with staff and leads to recruit and retain volunteers.
  • Invest regularly in teams through training, resources, coaching.
  • Oversee onboarding and training of new volunteers/leaders.
  • Create training materials and oversee training rhythms.

Data & Administration

  • Oversee data management system and family check‐in efforts (including management of supplies and equipment).
  • Oversee online processing system for volunteer applications.
  • Manage Family Ministry budget.

Environment Support

  • Regularly attend and provide support to NCC Kids & Youth services.
  • Serve as liaison for facility use [ex: Phase Family Learning Center].

Partnership with Parents Resourcing

  • Provide at home resources to help parents win.
  • Create teaching tools to help parents build faith foundations.

Feedback Loops

  • Create and facilitate feedback loops for parent input.
  • Solicit parent input on new initiatives.

Community Building

  • Oversee team to create parent meet-ups and events.
  • Facilitate parenting events throughout the year.
  • Maintain communication tools and social media connections.

Capital Turnaround Campus Support Local Discipleship

  • Partner with Capital Turnaround discipleship efforts and Campus Pastor’s vision to plan and execute discipleship strategies locally.
  • Build relationships with families at location and in community.

Sunday Experience

  • Maintain active presence in Sunday experience.
  • Observe and coach NCC Kids and NCC Youth teams/volunteers.
  • Oversee the safety and security systems for families including evacuation plans, training teams on emergency procedures, and evaluating security plans on an ongoing basis.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper management of volunteer applications, the background check system, and files.
  • Ensure data integrity – manage church data system: lists and contacts for families, lists of volunteers reporting systems, attendance maintenance.
  • Draft and manage the family ministry budget.
  • Maintain communication with parents, volunteers, and leaders.

Support NCC Campuses

  • Ensure alignment on necessary items across campuses.
  • Maintain a schedule of visiting locations to observe and coach Sunday experience.

Global Events/Planning

  • Facilitate department meetings and strategic planning across locations.
  • Oversee global NCC events [ex: Parenting events, Kids Rally training, Christmas event].
  • Coordinate on campus expression events [ex: local volunteer trainings, campus expression of discipleship/parenting event].

Support Network Churches

  • Provide resources and coaching as needed to NCC Partner Churches.

Special Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, education or related field or comparable work experience,
  • Relevant experience including pastoral ministry.
  • Experience leading teams preferred.
