Resources for leaders
Want to lead?
We ask that potential new leaders do these things:
- Be part of an NCC group for at least one semester prior to leading a group.
- Complete our required Leadership 101 online course (details below)
- Agree to abide by and sign NCC’s Leadership Covenant after reviewing and discussing with a member of the Discipleship Team.
Leadership 101
This online course is provided through the Thinkific app and must be completed by every person aspiring to lead at National Community Church. The course is provided via videos and ASL.
We want to ensure that you understand and embrace our core convictions, that you understand our way of following Jesus, and that you are able to commit to the responsibilities of leadership at National Community Church. The 4-part series unpacks these topics:
- Mission, vision, and values
- Our discipleship methods and missional theology
- Leadership skills and practices; leader prayer life; caring for those you lead
- Our Leadership Playbook, Leadership Covenant, and background check forms.
Interested in leading a new group this semester?
After reaching out and dreaming alongside your campus Groups Director, you’ll be invited to fill out and submit the New Group Registration form.
NOTE: You will need to log in. If you do not have an account, create one by selecting “Request Account.”
The New Group Registration form will be reviewed by the Groups Pastor and your Campus Groups Director. Upon approval, the group will be created in NCC Central. You will receive further instructions once the group is created.
Core Discipleship Courses
Core Discipleship courses are great ways to help those in your group who are newer to faith or newer to NCC. They’re provided through the Thinkific app and are intended to be completed in the context of community, led by a Group Leader from National Community Church.
Reorient around the incredible story found within Scripture with Pastor Heather Zempel. We will explore the chronological story of the Bible through the lenses of geography, culture, and history. We will discover tools to help us read the Bible, understand its message to original audiences, interpret it in contemporary culture, and apply it to our everyday lives.
This study examines the characteristics of what it means to be the Beloved Community. We will look at the seven characteristics that the early Church starts displaying when they receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit and start living on mission in community.
This interactive study explores the foundations of an active and engaged Christian faith: how to grow and thrive as someone who studies the WORDS, imitates the WAYS, and lives on the MISSION of Jesus.
Child Care Subsidy
To help parents with children participate in groups, NCC will subsidize up to $35 for each week they utilize child care in order to attend a group. NCC does not select, hire, or pay babysitters and does not provide IRS Form 1099 to either parents or babysitters.
Parents must be attending a group registered with NCC to be eligible. Subsidy is made at NCC’s sole discretion and may be discontinued at any time.
